Additional Protocol Process Overview
The planning and
preparation to implement the Additional Protocol (AP) begins with the development of general
processes for implementation. These processes define the
roles,
responsibilities, and legal authorities for various organizations or
people involved in gathering declarable information and submitting it
to the IAEA. Establishing processes helps to coordinate
efforts
to ensure consistency of the initial declaration and subsequent annual
reporting updates of AP-related activities. Establishing
processes to implement the AP are beneficial regardless of the
methodology or approach used.
